Hi everyone,

My name is Auke Kok (full: Auke-Jan Hendrik Kok) and I'm the current project leader of Lunar Linux. I've taken on this responsability from Chuck Mead who founded lunar in 2002 with a small group of people. I've been the acting project leader since 2003.

Most of my contributions stem from the time I started working with Kagan Kongar on the Package Management system that makes lunar unique. I used SuSE and Slackware before that and needed something a bit more flexible but still stable. Lunar was the answer to my requirements and has served me well over the years.

Writing the core code is a challenge at itself. Not only do I need to overview every change carefully in order not to break hundreds of systems, but I also need to push things forward and offer features that people require to provide certain modules. This makes coding on lunar a real challenge.

I'm still not out of ideas to improve lunar. I've learned to be patient and work on specific topics in batches to achieve the best quality of code and to produce finished items. The latest series ISO's are the result of that. Future goals for lunar are already set, and it's just a matter of time before I get to implementing them!

Personally, I'm a dutchmen born in Schoorl in 1973, found my love in TauNeutrino who is my muse and energy, balancing inspiration with fun and happiness. Without her there would be no 'sofar' to speak of ;^).
